A Talk With TheoJunkie

Actually had an unsolicited answer to the challenge from a blog called TheoJunkie on November 26, 2007. His arguments weren't particularly deep or compelling, but we exchanged a few comments. I took him to task over a few minor misrepresentations he'd made, and he ended their defense with the quick-fix assertion that the cross is the only condition to salvation, which fell dramatically short of answering the argument in my last post,

Indeed, if the clear and consistent message of the scriptures is that God solely and irrevocably works perseverance in us, then the issue of an actual saint falling away or the consequences if they should do so would not be in the text at all, else spoken of only in the negative, as opposed to their possibility being clearly implied by way of warning.

And because you've all been naughty, it's omake time again! My first response to Triablogue was held up in another post by TheoJunkie as an example of how not to show Christian grace and humility. That definitely wins silver for the 'has no clue about context' awards. Apparently, my odd humor in the face of Triablogue's attacks against me somehow constitutes an unchristian attitude and pride. Wow, I'm officially an awful example of the superficially emotional, culturally biased, fuel for the Emergent Church, lovey-dovey, Brady Bunch meets TBN version of humility and grace. What can I say? I'm honored. In commemoration of this post and the numerous discussions I've had with emotionally high-strung people who inexplicably like to argue anyway, I've posted the Cotton Candy Commandments, a concise guide to the unspoken rules of discussion among Christians, so we won't ever disagree on anything and everyone can always feel good about themselves! Yipee!!
